General Information
Q: When and where is the festival taking place?
A: HTX Tap Fest will be held from October 9th - 13th in Katy, Texas.
All classes and special events will Leap Dance Center located at;
10452 Gaston RD. Katy, TX, 77494.
Q: Who can attend the festival?
A: Dancers of all ages and skill levels are welcome! We offer classes for Beginner, Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced and Advanced levels.
Parents, teachers, and dance enthusiasts are also encouraged to attend performances and special events.
Q: Do I need to audition to participate?
A: No audition is required for classes. However, some performance opportunities or higher level classes may require pre-approval based on experience level.
Q: Can I register for just one day?
A: Yes! We will offer single-day passes closer to our festival date. Full festival passes will be available at the start of registration.
Q: What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. No returns or refunds will be issued.
In the event that HTX Tap Fest is cancelled by government officials, due to pandemics, natural disasters, or for any other unforeseen circumstances, all payments will be credited toward a rescheduled festival date.
Please note: Festival instructors are subject to change at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, illness, scheduling conflicts, travel issues, or personal emergencies. Instructor changes do not qualify as a reason for a refund or credit.
Q: How do I know which level to choose?
A: Please refer to our leveling guidelines on our Festival Passes when registering. If you’re unsure, we recommend choosing the lower level or emailing us at info@htxtapfest.com. Faculty can advise if you should change levels during the event.
Q: How many classes can I take per day?
A: Your pass includes access to all classes in your registered level. Dancers may not switch between levels without approval.
Q: Will the schedule change?
A: While we will make every effort to keep the posted schedule; faculty and class times are subject to change if necessary.
Q: Are there performance opportunities for students?
A: Yes! We host a Student Showcase for solos, duet/trios and groups. Details and sign-ups will be available at registration.
Q: Are performances open to the public?
A: Yes, tickets will be available for purchase online and at the venue (subject to availability) for the faculty concert. Student showcase is free admission!
Q: What is the closest airport?
A: Houston has 2 major airports.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport -IAH - is approximately 50 minutes to festival location.

Houston Hobby Airport - HOU - is approximately 55 minutes to festival location.
Q: Is there a host hotel?
A: Yes! Element Houston Katy is our host hotel. You can find via our room block by clicking here.
Q: Is transportation provided?
A: Transportation is not included, but ride-share services like Uber & Lyft are available. Public transportation is not a reliable source for transportation in Houston.
Q: Can I take photos or videos during classes?
A: Photography and video recording are not permitted during classes unless given explicit permission by the instructor. Official festival photographers will capture moments throughout the weekend and will have all photos available for sale during and afterthe event.
Q: Do I need to bring anything to class?
A: Bring your tap shoes, comfortable dance attire, water, and a great attitude! All water bottles should be leak proof to prevent spills protect the studio floors.
NO GLASS WATER BOTTLES!
Every day there is a scheduled lunch break. The studio has multiple food options near by.
